Why I switched back to a Macbook Pro 💻

Good morning you guys! 

Happy Saturday!!! I’m so happy it’s the weekend! Do you guys have any fun weekend plans? I have a couple things to do, but will mostly stay at home because they are saying there is a huge snowstorm coming. In the meantime, I wanted to share why I switched back to a Macbook Pro! 

A couple months ago, I bought a Mac desktop computer and I LOVED it! It’s been something I’ve wanted for years and after I got my full time job, I figured why not just get it? So I did and I gave my old Macbook Pro to my little sister. I had that one since I started college, so it’s been a good 4 years since I bought it. It worked fine and everything, but I just really wanted this Mac computer! I thought it would help a lot with blogging and making videos. Which it did, but it wasn’t for me. 

It’s been about 3 months since I’ve had the Mac and I finally decided that right now, I need a laptop. I can’t take the desktop to the living room and use it, it’s impossible. The only place I could use it in would be in my office and I only go in there if I’m working from home. Which is why a lot of my blog posts were only posted when I worked from home. After work, I was too tired to go into the office and work on my blog which resulted in barely blogging. 

After a couple weeks of thinking about this, I decided to switch back over to a Macbook Pro. The problem was that I couldn’t keep both, so I had to sell my Mac. I ended up giving it to my sister and the next day I went and got myself the newest Macbook. I thought about just getting the basic version, but the price difference wasn’t that much of a big deal, so I was able to get the one with the touch bar. It’s really nice, the keyboard feels awesome, and it’s super fast. I’ve never felt happier to have my Macbook back. Safe to say, I’m in love with my computer once again! 

The Mac was a great computer, worked nicely with editing videos and stuff like that. There was no issues with it besides only being able to stay in one spot. Which I of course knew before I bought it, but I didn’t know how much I’d need the capability of being able to move around and bring it with me wherever I go. Needless to say, I made a mistake when purchasing it and I’m glad I was able to fix it quickly! Now I’m able to bring my computer with me on future vacations and anywhere I want! It feels nice to take it to the living room when I get tired of sitting in my office. I also started taking it to work and in my free time I write when I can so it’s just really a win-win! 

Maybe in the future when I’m able to afford both and I live in my dream city I could purchase a Mac again if I need to, but for now this Macbook has my heart ❤ 

Has anyone else made a mistake like this? Where you quickly realized you shouldn’t have bought something and kind of regret it? At one point, I just kept it to myself because my husband would’ve said, “I told you so!” Which he did… I should’ve taken his advice 🙂

Creating a whole new routine for 2019! ⭐️

In 2018, I had a great routine set up and it was working well for me. By the end of 2018, I had NO routine. Maybe it was just because it was the end of the year and things were happening all over the place and maybe it was that I was just over my routine. Not following a routine caused everything else to go out of whack. For example, I lost track of when my bills were due at times and I stopped writing to-do lists during the week. This year, I want to create routines that stay throughout the whole year so things like that never happens and I can be as productive as possible. 

Starting with my morning routine. There was a time last year where I was able to wake up at 5am and get my day started before heading out for work. That lasted a good month and it went into the holidays which is where I think it all went downhill. I quit following my routine and I slept in longer than I should’ve. One of my goals this year is to wake up earlier and accomplish a lot of things before I go to work for 8 hours a day. I think the best way for me to follow this is by waking up at 5am and getting in at least 30 minutes of exercise. Our home gym is almost done so that means I literally will walk out my back door, into the garage, and will be able to work out in the comfort of my own house. No having to drive back and forth anywhere – easy. The hardest part will be getting my body to adjust to waking up so early. That means going to bed earlier which won’t be a problem for me since we get into bed by 9pm every night and even 8:30pm at times. So that’s the first step, which is why this week I’m going to train my body to wake up at 5am and just do things before work so it’ll help when the gym is done and I actually work out.

Aside from waking up early, I want to incorporate those things I want to do before going to work. I want to eat breakfast of course, get my lunch ready, drink coffee/tea with my husband, and blog. Blogging in the morning is the best for me because usually after work I have stuff to do and never have time to blog. On Monday mornings, I like to write out the things I have to do for the week and that way I know I won’t forget to do something. This would make be super productive in the morning and I would feel as if my day wasn’t wasted after working all day. 

Now, my skincare morning routine is something I am changing this year as well. My skin has been looking a lot better and I want to keep it that way. I cleanse my face every morning and put on moisturizer right after. Then comes makeup and whatever else. One of my skincare goals for this year is to go to a professional place to remove my acne scarring. That is the #1 thing that makes me insecure, the fact that it’s just around my cheeks and never goes away. Sometimes even makeup doesn’t fully cover it. Being comfortable in your own skin without makeup is something I’ve always dreamed of. I try to wear makeup only a bit during the week and it’s very hard for me to go to work without it, but it’s good for my skin. I was looking at buying the Clarisonic Mia, has anyone else used/tried this? Does it help and is it worth the price? Was thinking it might help with my completion and glow. It also would be nice to know I took all of the makeup off my face! 

So that’s the plan for my morning routine. My night time routine is a bit different. I’ve been doing a great job of going to bed early, it’s easy because I’m tired by 8pm, but sometimes I lay in bed for an hour or two not being able to fall asleep. So I use that time to browse Pinterest or Reddit. I tried melatonin and it helps a lot, but sometimes I forget to take it and I’m too lazy to get up. I also think my phone is a distraction at times, so putting that away and just clearing my head before sleep would be a better thing to do. I am also trying to limit the amount of time I spend on my phone overall, so this would be a big help. So top things I am adding to my routine: be in bed by 8:30-9pm so I can get 8 hours of sleep, take melatonin if needed and don’t be lazy about it, put away the phone, and make sure the room doesn’t have a lot of light. 

As for my night time routine, I am changing that up as well. 

  • remove any makeup using coconut oil like a cleanser instead of a coconut oil on a makeup remover wipe – the way I used to do it doesn’t work for me
  • after removing makeup with coconut oil, use a wet cloth to wipe down any coconut oil still left on my face 
  • wash face with moisturizing cleanser
  • put a face mask on (2-3x a week depending on how my skin is feeling)
  • add moisturizer and soft lip therapy on lips

My skin is usually very dry in the winter and I haven’t been very good at applying moisturizer before bed. On the days I don’t wear makeup, I’d skip the first two steps. 

2019 is going to be a great year and I plan to do a lot of things. I can’t do those things without a consistent routine, so let’s hope this will keep me going.

Creating a blogging schedule for 2019! ✨

Hi all!

Hope you all had a great New Years! Last year, my blogging schedule was all over the place and now that I think about it, I wouldn’t even call it a blogging schedule. It was pretty much whenever I had time/felt like blogging. In 2019, I am creating an actual blogging schedule where I will have set times on when I will be writing/publishing new posts.

My original plan was to find a desk calendar at Marshall’s or TJ Maxx, but I had no luck. Then I thought about ordering one from Amazon, but there were some basic ones for $12 and I didn’t think it was worth it at that price. I mean, at that point I might as well buy a planner. So what I did instead was go on Microsoft Word and found a calendar template. I even found one that had every single month for 2019. I printed it out today and started filling in my schedule, this one will be strictly for blogging.

I took some time to think about what days to choose and I ended up deciding to create posts 3x a week. So for example I chose Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays because those are the days where I usually don’t have heavy meetings at work and that way I’ll still have time and energy when I come home to write. Fridays I always work from home so that one will be the easiest because I can just wake up earlier and start writing. I also wanted to pick one day every weekend to write as well. I think for that I might just switch days every weekend, like one weekend I’ll do Saturday and the next it’ll be Sunday. And then in the future if I have a vacation coming up, I’ll either just skip those days and make up for them or I will just leave it as is and continue the following week when I’m back. For example, we’re going to Tennessee at the end of this month and I plan to spend some quality time with my husband and family so I don’t want to be occupied with my phone or computer. For those days where I had to blog, I will probably just skip them and start fresh the following week.

For me, it’s important to create this blogging schedule because I feel like in the last 6 months I really haven’t been following my routine and including blogging as much as I’ve wanted to. We’ll see if this method works and if not, I will move on to another method. I want to step up my blogging so I can accomplish my goal of one day becoming a full time blogger. Hope this is a step in the right direction!

Plans & goals for the weekend! 🌿

Hello & good morning!

Having a nice cup of coffee and writing out my plans and goals for the weekend. I write my goals for the week in a notebook every Sunday or Monday and sometimes I forget to write stuff I want to do for the weekend. So this will be helpful!

Goals and things I have to do:

  • Set up patio set and lights – this has been something we have been working on for about 2 weeks now, it’s just a lot of work cleaning out our backyard, but we should be able to set it up today if not tomorrow
  • Clean my car and truck – have been meaning to clean the inside for a week now, but I have been waiting for Mirhad to go dump the stuff we threw in the back of the truck from the garage so it’s all clear so I can clean it easier
  • Clean stuff from alley way – I don’t think anyone is going to come by from the city to clean it (THANKS A LOT) even though it’s their property, how annoying. So I think we will either clean the stuff closest to us or not do anything and put up a fence lol
  • Vlog – I haven’t vlogged in so long 😦 so I want to do that this weekend
  • Read – I’ve been meaning to sit down and read, but this week was a blur lol
  • Meditate at least 1x this weekend – my goal has been to do it 3x this week with Mirhad, but we both haven’t had time
  • Find a box to keep my old bills in – it’s just nice to have it organized and if I ever need to pull one out, I know where to find it
  • Grab the bonfire from my moms house – this could’ve easily been done like 100 times this week, but we’re so lazy -.- so that definitely needs to happen this weekend because we want to do bonfires!!! 
  • Wash more winter clothes – so I’ve taken all my winter stuff out and washed at least half, the other half needs to be done and Mirhad’s winter stuff too!
  • Organize our closet – clean it out and put away all summer stuff and put in all winter stuff woohoo!

So it’s a pretty long list, but nothing on there takes more than a day to do. The closet and washing clothes will probably be the lengthiest, but it’s gotta get done! 

Plans:

  • Friday 
    • I am working until 3ish and then I will do some chores around the house
    • Going to make a healthy lunch
    • Possibly have my niece and nephew sleep over tonight
    • Mirhad will hopefully start putting up the lights in the yard
    • Start organizing the closet 
  • Saturday
    • Have to go over to my sister in laws around 10am to help her with something – guess I can’t really say it on here until I post pics so until then hahaha
    • Going to my best friends parents house around 5ish, will chill there for a bit and then head home, not sure what we’ll do after… maybe a bonfire?!?!!? 😀
    • Maybe I can get Mirhad to wash some laundry this day 
  • Sunday
    • Hopefully by this time, I’ll have all my chores done so I can CHILL on a Sunday for once
    • Planning to just light a candle, watch a movie, and chill
    • Will probably wash more laundry on this day

So that’s pretty much my weekend, not too much going on! 

Hello there! ✨

Good morning!!!

LONG TIME NO TALK! Seriously… it’s been probably almost a month since the last time I blogged?? Not sure, but I’ll check back on my last post. But seriously.. it has been a while and I even feel so weird writing again. I haven’t been in the greatest mood to blog, I feel like I lost my mojo (is that what it’s called? lol) like I have no motivation to blog every single day, but TBH, I do miss it. 

Currently, I am working from home, enjoying my second cup of coffee today. About to have a meeting at 2 so that will keep me occupied until 3 and then I might go to another 30 minute meeting and that’s it for my work day since I started working this morning at 7:30! Work is fun, I am lucky my best friend works at the same place I do so getting lunch with her everyday is lots of fun! ❤ 

We gave Thor away to a very nice lady who lives 2.5 hours away from us because we decided that we weren’t ready for a puppy yet, but we are deff going to adopt one in the future, let’s say 1-2 years? We just got married and we barely were seeing each other and hanging out throughout the day. I’d come home from work and just play and take care of Thor up until I was ready for bed and it would repeat like that everyday. He wasn’t a bad puppy, he was actually very smart and playful. Next time, we deff won’t get a puppy until we are 100% ready. I do miss him a lot, but I know this was the right decision. The very nice lady who has him now has been searching for a puppy for a long time, her golden retriever died 3 years ago and she has been searching for the perfect dog. It was like fate. I am glad that he is in great care by her, she even has family here so she will come visit with him and also said if we’re ever in the neighborhood we’re more than welcome to visit! So yes, it sucks that he isn’t ours anymore, but I know he’s having the time of his life 🙂 ❤ She sends me pictures all of the time so I get to watch him grow as well! Love and miss you forever Thori ❤ ❤ 

But since then we have just been getting our house in order. While we had Thor, we discovered a HUGE brown recluse spider. If you don’t know what that is, it is one of the most poisonous spiders in the Midwest. After that huge one came crawling from the corner towards where we were sitting with Thori in our office, Mirhad discovered another one in the bathroom. So needless to say, we freaked out.  He has spent the last few weeks exterminating them pretty much and we just find dead ones. The basement is the last place we need to take care of, but that will take lots of time.

Besides that, we have been finishing up the little things we have wanted to around the house and it feels good! We are using this white board we use to use to study with and put it in out kitchen/hallway area and that’s where we write our daily to-do list. Feels great when you can cross it all off at the end of the day. So we have been using that to keep track of everything around the house and I have got to say that it works so well!

Hi!

Happy Saturday! It’s very cold and rainy here and it’s making me soooo lazy, but I need to snap out of it because I have to catch up on this financial management homework and notes. Went with Sanela this morning so she could finally buy a Macbook, yay!!! And then I went to the house because my parents are doing the floors and it looks SO GOOD. I love the color we picked, I think it goes perfectly with the house. Will do a house update post soon 😀

Today, I am going to finish my financial management stuff and just chill. I’m at Sanela’s currently, blogging, and we are making some chicken masala with rice. Hopefully it turns out good.

Will try to make another fun post later tonight when I finish this work!

Good morning!!!!!!!

Happy happy Wednesday! I am in a great mood today because I got 10 hours of sleep, had to make up for getting 2 hours of sleep yesterday and I just feel so alive hahaha. I really need to get back into my habit of going to sleep earlier and waking up earlier like I use to earlier this semester 😦 I miss it! It really makes me more productive and every time I wake up super late, I feel like my whole day is gone and I can’t finish everything I want to get done.

Today we are going to the house to work around 3pm and we have our taxes to do at 5 and then I will come back to the house to continue working. This gives me some time until 2:30-3 to work on my best moments of 2017 video, damn I am super late on that lol. But I really want to finish it because I have everything set up, I just need to figure out how to make it and using what.

Have I ever talked about how much I love oranges????? I LOVE THEM SO MUCH. Seriously though, ever since I started getting 3-4 at Walmart, they have always been so sweet which is hard to believe because every time before this they were sour. So I think I eat at least one orange a day. I think I want to go to Fresh Thyme and try theirs, heard they were sweet bc every time I go to Mirhad’s house, they always have them and they are sweet.

Change of plans… my mom wants to go to Walmart now, so I guess my video editing will have to wait!
