What I’m packing for my weekend getaway to New Orleans! ✈️

Good morning and happy Monday you guys!

My trip to New Orleans is 24 days away and you know I always love to plan ahead with everything because it makes me feel more organized. So I thought I’d go ahead and think about what I’m packing for those 3 days especially since we decided to go to the beach!

I think I’m going to bring 4-5 outfits total to wear out in case I need to change or I’m not feeling it. So for those I will have to go shopping for, but this is how I am imagining it to be.

  • two dresses (need to buy some pretty ones)
  • pair of jeans
  • leggings
  • 4 pairs of shirts, can be casual or fancy
  • 4 pairs of shoes
    • converse
    • wedges
    • sandals
    • flip flops for the beach
  • swimsuit (need to buy a new one from Target soon unless my old ones can fit)
  • beach cover-up
  • sunglasses (need to buy a nice pair because I just gave mine to my mom)
  • possibly a cute sun hat
  • my pjs (a shirt and shorts)
  • an outfit to travel in for the car ride

I think that’s about all the clothes/accessories I should be bringing since we will just be gone for 3 days. I always overdo it, but I guess you can never have too many back up clothes right?!

Some of the other things I’ll probably pack in my purse or book bag is my Kindle for the car ride so I can read my book, my planner (maybe, not sure if I want to carry this around yet), chapstick, wallet, my camera + charger, phone charger, and my camera stick. Want to carry around a light book bag, so I’m either going to use one of my older ones or get myself another one! I have been eyeing this Coach one, but I’m not 100% sure if I want to buy it yet.

What are some essentials you guys pack on a short trip like this? Should I bring anything else?! Let me know in the comments 🙂

Spring bucket list! 🌸

Hi all!

It’s officially the first day of spring!!! Just like for any season, you have to have a bucket list for this season too. Writing this list has made me so excited for spring, so here we go!

  • Fly a kite
  • Take pictures of the pretty trees + flowers blooming
  • Have a nice picnic around the pretty colors
  • Go on a random road trip or two
  • Visit the farmers market
  • Rollerblade lots and lots in the park
  • Make a bird feeder (we have bird food, just never got around to making them a house)
  • Take our niece and nephew to the park
  • Plan out April and May in my planner
  • Spend time outside as much as I can, soak up the warm sun
  • Go to the Botanical Gardens
  • Buy fresh flowers
  • Make our front/back yard look nice
  • Look for bunnies
  • Have a BBQ at the park
  • Take lots of photos of my husband and I outside
  • Plan our California trip
  • Plan our 2-3 summer trips
  • Prank my husband for April Fool’s Day
  • Keep the windows open at home as much as we can, let the fresh air flow in
  • Set up our patio table and chairs
  • Read on my Kindle outside
  • Feed ducks
  • Visit 2-3 zoo’s outside of our city
  • Get an Banana split ice cream and eat it with my husband at the park

So far this is my list, I think if I remember anything else I’ll just add it. It’s not a super long list so I think I can accomplish it. You can tell I just want to spend a lot of time outside!

Have you guys created your spring bucket list yet?? Anything you think I should add to mine? Let me know in the comments!! 🙂

Things that keep me organized 🌻

Hi all!

For me to function correctly and get stuff done, I need to be organized. So, I’ve decided to share some tips on things that keep me organized!

  • Use a planner
    • I like to plan out my days when I can or at least have an overview of my schedule. It helps me organize my day and remind me of anywhere I need to be. Sometimes if I don’t know what I am doing for the day or don’t have some type of a schedule, I start freaking out and feel like I lost control of my day or it’s going to waste doing nothing
  • Write a to-do list everyday
    • Writing to-do lists helps me figure out what needs to be done, whether that list is for the day, the week, or for the month. This is also a good reminder for things you have been meaning to do, but always forget about
  • Creating a relaxing workspace/environment
    • Writing a to-do list and writing in your planner is fine to anywhere, but what really gets my brain flowing is if I am doing this stuff in a relaxing environment. I like to clear my desk or area I am sitting in and light a candle if possible, get myself a cold glass of water and begin thinking. This helps me personally get my brain flowing and it kind of helps improve my memory as well for some reason, I remember things much better

Those are really the top 3 things I do to keep myself organized. I think the key to getting stuff done, even goals is organization. Maybe some people can be unorganized and do it, but for me.. I need to have my shit together 🙂

It’s about that time… Sunday!

Hi there!

I wish I could say lazy Sunday today, but it won’t be lazy at all 😦 so Mirhad didn’t sleep ALL night, I woke up at 4am and noticed his ass was in the office working so I told him to go to sleep right now and I’m not sure when he went but he claimed he slept for like 3 hours. Knowing him, he will probably be tired ALL DAY which will be annoying, but I told him he better not say once that he’s tired lol.

Today at 1, we’re going to my moms cousins house to visit them for the first time since we got married. In the Bosnian tradition, you have to visit all family when you get married and invite them back over (if you want) so now we have to spend months doing that. Last night one of Mirhad’s older cousins came over and honestly I thought it would be kind of awkward because they’re older and I didn’t know if there would be any good conversation, but we actually had a lot of fun. The lady was like, “I’m having so much fun, trust me if I was bored I would’ve drank my coffee and said thanks goodbye!” She’s so funny, so they ended up staying longer than we/they thought they would, but it was fun for sure. They are very talkative, open, and lively so that helped. We ended up taking a picture together, they insisted. Here’s the pic below:

Yesterday we also had a nice BBQ at my best friend Sanela’s house. It was delish and we ended up drinking coffee the Bosnian way, it was actually fun 🙂 Here’s a picture of the cute little coffee cup set we used.

So cute! I need to get myself a set like this, her mom is in Bosnia so I asked her if she finds any cute ones to bring me some back 🙂

What else? I have work tomorrow, but it’s supposed to rain the rest of the week after Monday so I may end up working from home for the rest of the week. I hate driving in the rain because there’s always an accident and people drive crazy even if it’s raining so it’s pretty dangerous and I’d rather not be stuck in traffic for an hour. Hopefully I can just do that this week!

I might go shopping later, if I can drag Mirhad to come with me. I still need a work planner, it’s so hard finding one that fits all of my needs, but hopefully I find something today before work this week.

Bye 🙂

February 5, 2018 ❄️

3:32 PM

Hello!

Happy Monday (or not so happy???)… no, HAPPY MONDAY. Have to be positive even if it’s Monday 🙂 As the image says above ^ “Monday, Positive Mind, Positive Vibes, Positive Life.”

Been doing lots of homework today, currently at the library working – it’s super peaceful here. Had a nice vanilla latte earlier this morning from SB 😋 . I have a lot of homework to finish today. But I am first going to write my to-do list for this week!

To-do list and goals for the week of February 5th:

  • Microeconomics homework (turn in Wednesday)
  • CSIS homework (due Friday)
  • Finish 2 Marketing discussions today (2/6 of them today, then 2 each other day + replies)
  • Write my Financial Management notes to prepare for Thursday’s exam
  • Finish Financial Management homework (due tomorrow)
  • Investments midterm (due Thursday)
  • Investments discussion + reply (due Thursday)
  • Investments Chapters 11 & 12 quizzes (due Sunday)
  • Marketing assignment week 4 (due Sunday)
  • Marketing quiz (due Sunday)
  • Prepare notes for Micro exam, learn the material
  • Pass out invitations for bridal shower
  • Eat healthy
  • Work out at least 3x this week
  • Take a break in between working on assignments to clear mind (try to meditate)
  • Drink lots of water
  • Read a chapter of Night

Gotta come back and cross these out as I finish them (hopefully lol). Mainly just homework but this keeps me on track, I like to write it here and in my planner. Helps to have it multiple spots in case I don’t have one of them.

That’s pretty much that… see ya! 🙂
