Hello March! 🌼

Good morning!!

Happy Friday guys! 

I woke up this morning feeling very refreshed and looked outside my window only to find more ice on the ground. I had great sleep and then I realized it’s March and got super excited! The weather forecast is showing that it will get much warmer after the 8th of March. So glad the winter is finally going away and I can enjoy some fresh air. Speaking of a new month, that means we have some goals to write out! 

Goals for March:

  • Learn a new sport (already have one on mind, will make a video about it)
  • Lose 10-15 pounds 
  • Start vlogging – post first video on Youtube 
  • Be consistent with my blog posts
  • Make a laundry routine so we don’t fall behind on laundry
  • Share my blog, be more open about it 
  • Workout 5x a week
  • Sleep 8 hours every night and wake up at 5 am every morning
  • Go to bed earlier
  • Clear up my acne scarring/skin 
  • Spend time outdoors as much as I can as soon as it gets warmer outside
  • Read at least 1 book
  • Get back into writing my to-do lists
  • Save money from every paycheck for our future vacations
  • Buy our Disneyland and Universal Studios tickets before the end of the month
  • Work on myself, mentally and physically
  • Only buy new clothes if I lose weight 
  • Have at least 3 date nights with my husband 
  • Spend less time on my phone and more time with my husband 

That sounds like a pretty good list and things I can for sure accomplish! I didn’t want to make it too goal heavy because sometimes it gets unrealistic, but I know that I could do a bunch of these. And even if I only do 50% of this list, it’s still something!

February Reflections 🌹

Good morning guys! 🙂

February has gone by so fast and I can’t believe that tomorrow is March 1st! I thought I’d take some time to reflect back on February and see if I accomplished anything I wanted to accomplish.

February felt like it went by quickly, but in the moment it was passing by so slow! I spent the beginning of the month attempting to get back into a diet of some sort and a workout routine. Well, I can say that I’ve got both of them down. Which is surprising because I feel like I’ve been trying to do that for the past three months. I think my whole mindset changed.. summer is only what, three months away? I need to get in shape and actually follow a healthy diet plan. My husband and I decided to get back on Keto so we could get that boost of weight loss and then after we have gotten to our goal weight, we will switch back to a normal diet. Keto for me is fine for a short-term weight loss option, but I don’t really like doing it for a long period of time. Plus, spring/summer is going to be here soon and I love fruit way too much to miss out on that! We have a nice market close to us here with the freshest of fruits and we always miss out because we’re on a diet. And since we have a trip coming up at the end of May and possibly end of April, I want to look and feel my best! So hopefully by our next trip I will be exactly where I want to be. I just wished I started earlier, but at least I started now!

I didn’t get to blog as much as I did this month, so that will be one of the things I will be focusing on next month. March is slightly busy for a couple days at work because we have some events going on, but aside from that it won’t be too bad. That will give me a lot of time to focus on myself and not be so stressed out. 

Also hoping that March will be much warmer than February. I am SO tired of the cold and have never been more excited for Spring to arrive! This winter feels like the longest one we’ve had in forever and from what I remember, didn’t the ground hog say we’re going to have an early Spring?!?! Warmer weather makes me so much more productive and I’m so ready for those picnics in the park with my husband 🙂

Aside from all of that, I think it was a pretty good month. There were some long weeks, but I had fun. January and February always seem like they pass by the quickest and I always forget about what happened in those two months! It’s like it’s a blur after New Years until summer! Hoping for March to be filled with lots of happiness, fun, smiles, and time outside!

Busy week – recap! ✨

Hello hello hello!

First of all, Happy Friday!!! We made it through the week!

It’s been a long time since I have been able to sit down and blog. Honestly, I feel like it’s been a while since I’ve even been able to sit down and BREATHE! It’s been such a busy week, I had a two-day training at work Tuesday and Wednesday and yesterday I had a presentation I had to do which was sooooo stressful for me. So I’ve been at work past 5 everyday and it’s been so tiring. I finally get to work from home today and next week will be much more calm where I can go back to my regular hours.

To be honest, I feel so drained that I don’t even know what to do with my life right now. The only thing I’ve been consistently doing is working out and eating right which is a huge plus and is most likely the reason I was able to get through this week!

I want to talk about how working out has affected my mood! I feel much more energized and my sleep is a lot better. I have been taking melatonin at night this week to make sure I am able to fall asleep because I had to get up so early for work, but working out has also tired me out which is a good thing! Working out has also let me clear my mind of my stresses. It felt so good to exercise  after my training days this week because I was stuck in a room all day from 8-5pm and it was mentally draining. As soon as I got to the gym, it’s like everything was out of my head and I felt more relaxed and clear-minded. The weather is still crap here, but I still have the motivation to walk out to my garage and workout even if it’s super cold during the walk! So I have to say exercising and being consistent with it is one of the best choices I’ve made this month!

Let’s get into the topic of public speaking. I absolutely HATE it!! It makes me so stressed out and I’m literally a mess until it’s over with. I’ve hated it ever since college and it’s never gotten easier for me. In yesterday’s presentation, I didn’t even have to stand up, but I was shaking so bad and probably stuttering. I just hate being the center of attention and I hope I don’t have to do another presentation for a really, really long time. Does anyone have any good tips on getting past this? It seems like whatever I do, I’m still as nervous as always.

I’m getting back into blogging after this busy week, so today I’m sitting down and writing a list of the future topics I’ll be talking about. I would love to hear what everyone’s favorite thing I blog about is! I know I’m all over the place, it’s hard for me to choose just one group of topics. I love talking about everything! Let me know in the comments 🙂

This weekend I am taking a lot of time to RELAX after this long, stressful week! I think I’ll do a bath bomb and a face mask with my husband. That always helps me relax and clear my mind. Tonight, my bff’s and I are having a girls night which is going to be lots of fun! We haven’t had one in a while, well I guess our Galentine’s counts, but we went out for pizza. It’ll be fun and a much needed girl time! Saturday, my husband and I will probably go to this game night at his friends house and Sunday will be stay at home and do nothing day (as usual) because Sundayz are for chilling and doing absolutely NOTHING 🙂

Hello December! ❄️❄️

Hello all!

Happy Monday! Have been wanting to write a December post since the first day of December, but the weekend slipped away from me and now we’re here. I already know this month will fly by, just like November did, but it is one of my favorite months. Everyone is in the holiday cheer, yes it’s COLD, but there are perks to that such as blankets, hot chocolate, etc. So December will be a great month, I have lots going on! My bff’s birthday is coming up, my husband is graduating, my other two best friends are graduating and having parties, I’m going to a baby shower, Christmas, and New Years! So yes, lots of events coming up!!! I feel like I haven’t had this much going on since the beginning of 2018 when I had my bridal shower, went on a couple trips, got married, graduated, and started my new job. I’ll have to write a separate post where I reflect back on 2018 and the great memories that were made, that sounds like it’d be fun. Oh and one more exciting thing to note! My sister-in-laws, sister-in-law had a baby!!! A little baby boy this morning! He is so precious and tomorrow after work we’re going to go meet him! I’m super excited!

So pretty much this whole month will be slow at work, so it won’t be that stressful yay! A lot of people will be taking vacations so the office will be pretty empty which gives me a chance to work from home more AND blog more! Still trying to get up at 5am everyday to make a routine for myself, but it was obviously hard to do when I had the flu so I will keep trying. The goal is to wake up with enough time to blog, eat breakfast, workout, and drink coffee or tea before heading out for work. That way I get a good start to my morning and accomplish a couple things while I’m at it. 

I am currently on keto and didn’t give up last week even when I was sick, but I REALLY REALLY REALLY want some cookies. I hope I don’t give in, I know I’m stronger than this! But it’s so hard 😦 I guess what is motivating is that December will fly by and I’ll have one more month of keto to do. Trying to do only 2 months (until February) and trying to lose as much weight as I can so I can be at a healthy weight for my height. And after that I’ll switch to a normal, balanced diet with a little bit of every food group. 

I already put up my tree, I moved it to an even better place in my house, I’ll have to upload some pictures soon. So far, there are 3 presents underneath it! One of my goals for 2019 is to start taking more pictures, whether that be of nature, the city, or people. Also want to start recording more of my life to have for memories. So taking pictures of my tree will be a great start!

Morning Post – Thursday

Good morning!!

Happy Thursday.. it’s almost Friday! I had this crazy dream about multi-dimensional stuff, it was ridiculous lol. Woke up a little earlier today and I could hear the birds chirping, it was a sweet moment. I feel like I haven’t heard birds chirp in forever especially because Spring took so long to get here. So that was nice. And then I got up and made some coffee and now I am just relaxing! I started Keto yesterday and I did so good I didn’t even cheat hahaha. Mirhad is starting it with me and we are going to only eat in a 6 hour time span because of intermittent fasting so it’s going to make me lose weight even faster. And then after the 30 days of dieting (after Colorado), I am going to gain muscle in places I want so I am going to eat lots of protein and stuff like that to help muscle gain so I am excited. Besides gaining some muscle, I will also be eating really healthy + exercising so that is a +++++. 

Have class today at 1:30, but me and Adisa are going earlier a little bit to look over our slides and then after class we’re going to do the problem set because our test is in like 2 weeks?? Yesterday we also got our micro study guide and we have to study for that too because our exam is next Wednesday which is also our last day of class woohoo!!! I just hope I can get a decent grade on the exam and end up with a B or something because he hasn’t put in grades all semester so we literally don’t know our grades in the class currently. 

So yeah, school is almost over!! I can’t believe that after 4 years it’s finally almost done! College was a great run, but I think it’s time for me to find myself outside of school and in a new place of work! 😀 

Going to go eat some food then go to school! Bye! 🙂 

Goals for May 💫

Wanted to do a post about my goals for May since I have a lot going on next month!

  • Graduate college
  • Get married and have a ceremony at the Mosque that following Saturday
  • Move in on the 16th
  • Have a BBQ with close family and friends at our house for a little marriage celebration on the 19th
  • Go to Mirhad’s college graduation
  • Go to Medina’s kindergarten graduation
  • Go on a trip to Colorado
  • Be on the keto diet until we go to Colorado
  • Lose at least 10 pounds in the month of May
  • Decorate my home
  • Be happy, don’t let little things get in the way of happiness – whatever it is, it’s not worth the stress and in the end it won’t matter
  • Blog A LOT!!!! Blog my whole journey of what’s coming next month
  • Prepare myself for my new job that will be starting in June
  • Create a great office workspace at home
  • Get all of my bills in order
  • Get rid of my kidney stones
  • Eat healthy, cook often (in new home)
