February Reflections 🌹

Good morning guys! 🙂

February has gone by so fast and I can’t believe that tomorrow is March 1st! I thought I’d take some time to reflect back on February and see if I accomplished anything I wanted to accomplish.

February felt like it went by quickly, but in the moment it was passing by so slow! I spent the beginning of the month attempting to get back into a diet of some sort and a workout routine. Well, I can say that I’ve got both of them down. Which is surprising because I feel like I’ve been trying to do that for the past three months. I think my whole mindset changed.. summer is only what, three months away? I need to get in shape and actually follow a healthy diet plan. My husband and I decided to get back on Keto so we could get that boost of weight loss and then after we have gotten to our goal weight, we will switch back to a normal diet. Keto for me is fine for a short-term weight loss option, but I don’t really like doing it for a long period of time. Plus, spring/summer is going to be here soon and I love fruit way too much to miss out on that! We have a nice market close to us here with the freshest of fruits and we always miss out because we’re on a diet. And since we have a trip coming up at the end of May and possibly end of April, I want to look and feel my best! So hopefully by our next trip I will be exactly where I want to be. I just wished I started earlier, but at least I started now!

I didn’t get to blog as much as I did this month, so that will be one of the things I will be focusing on next month. March is slightly busy for a couple days at work because we have some events going on, but aside from that it won’t be too bad. That will give me a lot of time to focus on myself and not be so stressed out. 

Also hoping that March will be much warmer than February. I am SO tired of the cold and have never been more excited for Spring to arrive! This winter feels like the longest one we’ve had in forever and from what I remember, didn’t the ground hog say we’re going to have an early Spring?!?! Warmer weather makes me so much more productive and I’m so ready for those picnics in the park with my husband 🙂

Aside from all of that, I think it was a pretty good month. There were some long weeks, but I had fun. January and February always seem like they pass by the quickest and I always forget about what happened in those two months! It’s like it’s a blur after New Years until summer! Hoping for March to be filled with lots of happiness, fun, smiles, and time outside!

Side note: Our trip is in 85 days!!!!! It seems so far away, but it’ll be here in no time! I need to make a countdown on here 🙂

 

 

 

Hello December! ❄️❄️

Hello all!

Happy Monday! Have been wanting to write a December post since the first day of December, but the weekend slipped away from me and now we’re here. I already know this month will fly by, just like November did, but it is one of my favorite months. Everyone is in the holiday cheer, yes it’s COLD, but there are perks to that such as blankets, hot chocolate, etc. So December will be a great month, I have lots going on! My bff’s birthday is coming up, my husband is graduating, my other two best friends are graduating and having parties, I’m going to a baby shower, Christmas, and New Years! So yes, lots of events coming up!!! I feel like I haven’t had this much going on since the beginning of 2018 when I had my bridal shower, went on a couple trips, got married, graduated, and started my new job. I’ll have to write a separate post where I reflect back on 2018 and the great memories that were made, that sounds like it’d be fun. Oh and one more exciting thing to note! My sister-in-laws, sister-in-law had a baby!!! A little baby boy this morning! He is so precious and tomorrow after work we’re going to go meet him! I’m super excited!

So pretty much this whole month will be slow at work, so it won’t be that stressful yay! A lot of people will be taking vacations so the office will be pretty empty which gives me a chance to work from home more AND blog more! Still trying to get up at 5am everyday to make a routine for myself, but it was obviously hard to do when I had the flu so I will keep trying. The goal is to wake up with enough time to blog, eat breakfast, workout, and drink coffee or tea before heading out for work. That way I get a good start to my morning and accomplish a couple things while I’m at it. 

I am currently on keto and didn’t give up last week even when I was sick, but I REALLY REALLY REALLY want some cookies. I hope I don’t give in, I know I’m stronger than this! But it’s so hard 😦 I guess what is motivating is that December will fly by and I’ll have one more month of keto to do. Trying to do only 2 months (until February) and trying to lose as much weight as I can so I can be at a healthy weight for my height. And after that I’ll switch to a normal, balanced diet with a little bit of every food group. 

I already put up my tree, I moved it to an even better place in my house, I’ll have to upload some pictures soon. So far, there are 3 presents underneath it! One of my goals for 2019 is to start taking more pictures, whether that be of nature, the city, or people. Also want to start recording more of my life to have for memories. So taking pictures of my tree will be a great start!

Thursday Vibes 🍁

Good morning!!!

Working from home today and tomorrow, just enjoying my time working with my hubby. This morning we had french toast with strawberries for breakfast and it was delish. Tomorrow we officially start back up on keto (yes we didn’t end up going back on it on Monday, shit happens) but it’s okay. I know we can do this and we will!

Currently drinking my first cup of coffee and writing this post. Today I have plans to:

  • Blog + Vlog
  • Go grocery shopping
  • Plan out our trip –> figure out the flight and car rental details
  • Put up fall decor

Putting up the fall decor today because pretty much for the past couple days it has been around 50-60 degrees in the morning so I think that officially calls for putting up fall stuff!!! Woohoo!! I love the fall weather, just not looking forward to winter lol. They’re the worst here, not worst than Chicago, but close. I wish we could go to Fall and then skip over winter and go straight to Spring. That would be nice 🙂

Speaking of Chicago, I really want to take Mirhad when it’s SUPER cold like in the winter so he can see how I felt a couple years ago when I went with my family hahaahah. Plus I kind of miss Chicago, but I only miss it in the summer. Winter is brutal there. If I lived there, I would not leave my house, even for work lol.

I still need to find a song to use for my Dallas video, it’s so hard choosing something. I just want to show the finished video to Mirhad, it’s my first one I ever made and it’s probably shitty, but who cares. I think I’m going to research how to make good vlog videos and stuff like that so I can start uploading to Youtube finally.

So I go back and forth with having an Instagram for my blog, I feel like I could possibly get more traffic that way and more readers, but every time I do make one, I end up deleting it for some reason. Don’t know why, I’ll try again! 

But yeah, that’s all for now. I’ll probably end up making an Instagram and link it to my homepage. See ya later! 🙂

Gloomy days 🌧

Good morning!

Woke up with a huge headache this morning, so I decided to work from home. Got lots of work to do today, but I am trying to balance everything out so I am not super stressed about it. Today is a very gloomy day outside, it looks like it’s going to rain, but I don’t remember it being in the forecast. Yesterday it rained a lot when I was driving home and I had the biggest scare on the highway. There was a huge puddle you couldn’t see going onto the Express Lane ramp and my car just flew into it and I almost lost all control of my car. I thought I was going to end up hitting the median and the side concrete. It was super scary, but if I didn’t know how to control my car it could’ve been way worse.

Onto more exciting things, I officially submitted my PTO for our trip next month and I am SUPER EXCITED!!!! This will 100% be the best trip I’ll have ever gone on so far in my life. So excited to see all of these new cities and so excited to go back and visit Yosemite😍 I told Mirhad that I don’t know how he’s going to drag me home after this trip.. seriously hahahaha. It will be too nice to leave. I can’t wait to start planning it, I’m going to most likely make a blog post all about it! 

I’m in our office right now, I lit a candle and the whole atmosphere changed completely. I drank coffee earlier this morning and I’m waiting for Mirhad to wake up so we can eat breakfast together so I don’t make it and it goes cold for him (happens way too often, this dude never wants to get up) so till then I’ll be starving. I guess by then I can call it lunch, not breakfast lol. I can hear him snoring so loudly from here LOL. 

Today we need to go grocery shopping, I think we are almost out of eggs if not already and we need some other keto foods. We had a “cheat weekend” but we didn’t even cheat lol. So yesterday around lunch time we decided to extend it one more day so last night we ordered some Domino’s pizza and it was yummy! Back to keto today and going to go hard for the rest of this month and possibly into next because I really want to a bit stronger/lighter so it doesn’t slow me down when I hike. Usually when I gain some weight I can barely do a hike and I can’t even enjoy it properly since I get tired so easily. 

Not sure what else we’ll do today, but we’ll see later. Planning on making a post about my weekend!

Btw I usually get my featured images from spark, but sometimes I take them myself. Hoping to get into always posting my own!

Morning Post – Thursday

Good morning!!

Happy Thursday.. it’s almost Friday! I had this crazy dream about multi-dimensional stuff, it was ridiculous lol. Woke up a little earlier today and I could hear the birds chirping, it was a sweet moment. I feel like I haven’t heard birds chirp in forever especially because Spring took so long to get here. So that was nice. And then I got up and made some coffee and now I am just relaxing! I started Keto yesterday and I did so good I didn’t even cheat hahaha. Mirhad is starting it with me and we are going to only eat in a 6 hour time span because of intermittent fasting so it’s going to make me lose weight even faster. And then after the 30 days of dieting (after Colorado), I am going to gain muscle in places I want so I am going to eat lots of protein and stuff like that to help muscle gain so I am excited. Besides gaining some muscle, I will also be eating really healthy + exercising so that is a +++++. 

Have class today at 1:30, but me and Adisa are going earlier a little bit to look over our slides and then after class we’re going to do the problem set because our test is in like 2 weeks?? Yesterday we also got our micro study guide and we have to study for that too because our exam is next Wednesday which is also our last day of class woohoo!!! I just hope I can get a decent grade on the exam and end up with a B or something because he hasn’t put in grades all semester so we literally don’t know our grades in the class currently. 

So yeah, school is almost over!! I can’t believe that after 4 years it’s finally almost done! College was a great run, but I think it’s time for me to find myself outside of school and in a new place of work! 😀 

Going to go eat some food then go to school! Bye! 🙂
