February Reflections 🌹

Good morning guys! πŸ™‚

February has gone by so fast and I can’t believe that tomorrow is March 1st! I thought I’d take some time to reflect back on February and see if I accomplished anything I wanted to accomplish.

February felt like it went by quickly, but in the moment it was passing by so slow! I spent the beginning of the month attempting to get back into a diet of some sort and a workout routine. Well, I can say that I’ve got both of them down. Which is surprising because I feel like I’ve been trying to do that for the past three months. I think my whole mindset changed.. summer is only what, three months away? I need to get in shape and actually follow a healthy diet plan. My husband and I decided to get back on Keto so we could get that boost of weight loss and then after we have gotten to our goal weight, we will switch back to a normal diet. Keto for me is fine for a short-term weight loss option, but I don’t really like doing it for a long period of time. Plus, spring/summer is going to be here soon and I love fruit way too much to miss out on that! We have a nice market close to us here with the freshest of fruits and we always miss out because we’re on a diet. And since we have a trip coming up at the end of May and possibly end of April, I want to look and feel my best! So hopefully by our next trip I will be exactly where I want to be. I just wished I started earlier, but at least I started now!

I didn’t get to blog as much as I did this month, so that will be one of the things I will be focusing on next month. March is slightly busy for a couple days at work because we have some events going on, but aside from that it won’t be too bad. That will give me a lot of time to focus on myself and not be so stressed out.Β

Also hoping that March will be much warmer than February. I am SO tired of the cold and have never been more excited for Spring to arrive! This winter feels like the longest one we’ve had in forever and from what I remember, didn’t the ground hog say we’re going to have an early Spring?!?! Warmer weather makes me so much more productive and I’m so ready for those picnics in the park with my husband πŸ™‚

Aside from all of that, I think it was a pretty good month. There were some long weeks, but I had fun. January and February always seem like they pass by the quickest and I always forget about what happened in those two months! It’s like it’s a blur after New Years until summer!Β Hoping for March to be filled with lots of happiness, fun, smiles, and time outside!Β

How do you guys feel like February was?! Did it pass by as quickly as it felt like for me? Do you have any cool plans for March? Let me know in the comments!! πŸ™‚

Side note: Our trip is inΒ 85 days!!!!! It seems so far away, but it’ll be here in no time! I need to make a countdown on here πŸ™‚

Styles I want to try in 2019

Hey guys!

One of my goals this year is to really get into fashion and to try out new styles. Since Spring is just around the corner, I’m already thinking about what kind of outfits I want to buy and wear. I’ve gotten some inspiration from Pinterest and want to organize it! I am thinking of outfits I could wear to work and also on vacations or just casually if I go somewhere. I rarely wear colors and am planning on incorporating them into my outfits.

So I decided the best thing to do is make a new board on Pinterest and have everything I like in there. I’ve been using boards a lot lately and it really organizes everything nicely.Β

Here’s the link to my board:Β Spring Style 2019

The problem with our city is that Spring can turn into summer weather real quick so sometimes it just depends on what you can wear. It’s usually cold in the office, so I will most likely be wearing cardigans/jeans from Spring into Summer. But there are a lot of cute outfits I’ve found and I cannot wait to use these as inspiration! I will continue adding more stuff into this board as I find more outfits, so keep an eye out!Β

Does anyone else use Pinterest to organize their ideas? What do you do for outfit inspiration? Let me know below, would love to try some new things out as well! πŸ™‚

My 2019 Vision Board!

Hi all!

I finally got around to finishing my vision board and it’s not the very best, but it’s perfect for me! This time I just put a bunch of pictures/quotes that will motivate me for this year. Last year, I had a lot of pictures of my husband/family and random things, but this way is better.Β

vision board 2019 v2 jpeg.jpg

Here’s my vision board – I won’t go through each one, but I’ll explain some of them.

Let’s start from the top. A lot of those are about calmness and mindfulness which is something I’d love work on a lot this year. The picture of the woman is about me wanting nicer skin and getting better with my makeup skills. And of course I added something about my husband because he is #1 πŸ™‚ As you can see there are a couple things on here about him!Β

In the second row, I have a picture of the Kindle which explains me wanting to read more this year. I can happily say that I have read SO much since I have gotten it! Family of course is important so I had to add something about that in here! We are planning to go to NYC this summer, so I added a picture of Central Park in there. And the last one I will mention in this row is the quote, “No one is born a great cook, one learns by doing.” I often get discouraged when I attempt to make some food that I’ve never made before or sometimes even food I’ve made multiple times and it doesn’t turn out the way I thought it would. This is a great quote because it’s true, I will get better with time!Β

The third row is just all quotes, so I’ll pick 2-3 that stand out right now. I really want to get rid of any clutter and just make our living space very simple. The picture with Pooh says, “sometimes the smallest things take up the most room in your heart.” This is referring to my niece and nephew πŸ™‚ And the last one I will mention in this row is the very first quote, life really is precious.

In the fourth row, I have the state of California map because it is one of the best states in my opinion and this map shows a lot of cool places to visit in CA! The woman in the bikini is my fitness goal and it’s very realistic for my body type since I don’t want abs or anything muscular. I feel like I could achieve this in 2019. I used to find really fit people with abs and make them my motivation, but it was too unrealistic and would take YEARS to happen. The picture of the palm trees and beach is a very special place in my heart πŸ™‚ ❀ And the last one is about working out, eating well, and being patient. I’m not patient enough and this is a good reminder to be!

And for the last two sections, I’ll just talk about 4-5 of them. I added a couple things about traveling because that’s what I’m most looking forward this year and there is a picture in Disney Land because we are planning to go there! The pictures are because I want to take lots and lots of pictures going forward, that is the best way to remember good memories. I NEED to drink more water daily, it’s a huge struggle for me, but I am going to make it a habit. The picture of the hair is because I want long, healthy hair. And the last one I will mention is the plant, I want more plants in my house because plants give off good energy and fresh air.

There you have it, my 2019 vision board! I tried to be as realistic as possible and I think I can for sure accomplish most, if not all of these goals on my board.

Did you make a vision board for 2019? What are your top three things on there? πŸ™‚

Hello February! πŸ’˜

Hi everyone!

A little late on the February post, but it’s a new month! In the past, my husband and I never really took Valentine’s Day seriously because we were in high school and college. Now that we’re married, we’re going to celebrate it as best as we can! But aside from Valentine’s Day, new month = new goals. Of course I have my other goals in general, but I like to do specific goals for the month. For example, I want to create a consistent routine for the gym. Our gym is finally completed so I can start working out whenever. Sounds easy, right? Nope! It’s very hard to get yourself in that routine of working out when you haven’t worked out in probably over 6 months. So I need to make a plan, a schedule to keep me motivated and going to the gym.

At this point, I am just trying to be healthy. I’m not getting any younger and neither is my body so I need to take care of it. I wish I had this mentality when I was in college, but who did?! One step at a time, though. It isn’t hard and I can do this! On the plus side, I bought something that I think it’s going to motivate me for the gym – some really good pre-workout that apparently tastes like Mountain Dew and it’s going to be delivered today! Maybe I’ll do a review of it?! Okay, enough of that!

Mirhad and I made a very serious decision last week that we won’t be telling anyone about until it’s time to do it, but it will be in 2020. Big changes coming!!!! We have decided to do this for ourselves because this is what we’ve wanted to do for so long and we are super excited for it! And no, it’s not that we have not decided to have kids! I cannot wait until I can officially make a post about it, it will change everything ☺️

In the meantime, we have lots of work to do until 2020. I am hoping to really take my blog to the next level this year, but I’m not sure where to start. Does anyone have any helpful tips? I would greatly appreciate them!

And one of the last goals I will mention is that I want to spend less time on my phone. I feel like in the last 6 months I’ve noticed (and so has my husband) that I have a slight addiction to my phone. The problem is that I really do spend way too much time browsing social media. It’s okay if it has something to do with my blog, but most of the time it doesn’t. So that’s one of my other goals, to spend less time on my phone and more time talking to my husband, family, and friends.

Do you have any goals for this month? Let me know! πŸ™‚

Creating a blogging schedule for 2019! βœ¨

Hi all!

Hope you all had a great New Years! Last year, my blogging schedule was all over the place and now that I think about it, I wouldn’t even call it a blogging schedule. It was pretty much whenever I had time/felt like blogging. In 2019, I am creating an actual blogging schedule where I will have set times on when I will be writing/publishing new posts.

My original plan was to find a desk calendar at Marshall’s or TJ Maxx, but I had no luck. Then I thought about ordering one from Amazon, but there were some basic ones for $12 and I didn’t think it was worth it at that price. I mean, at that point I might as well buy a planner. So what I did instead was go on Microsoft Word and found a calendar template. I even found one that had every single month for 2019. I printed it out today and started filling in my schedule, this one will be strictly for blogging.

I took some time to think about what days to choose and I ended up deciding to create posts 3x a week. So for example I chose Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays because those are the days where I usually don’t have heavy meetings at work and that way I’ll still have time and energy when I come home to write. Fridays I always work from home so that one will be the easiest because I can just wake up earlier and start writing. I also wanted to pick one day every weekend to write as well. I think for that I might just switch days every weekend, like one weekend I’ll do Saturday and the next it’ll be Sunday. And then in the future if I have a vacation coming up, I’ll either just skip those days and make up for them or I will just leave it as is and continue the following week when I’m back. For example, we’re going to Tennessee at the end of this month and I plan to spend some quality time with my husband and family so I don’t want to be occupied with my phone or computer. For those days where I had to blog, I will probably just skip them and start fresh the following week.

For me, it’s important to create this blogging schedule because I feel like in the last 6 months I really haven’t been following my routine and including blogging as much as I’ve wanted to. We’ll see if this method works and if not, I will move on to another method. I want to step up my blogging so I can accomplish my goal of one day becoming a full time blogger. Hope this is a step in the right direction!

Does anyone else have a schedule like this for blogging? Does it work for you? Let me know in the comments!

Discipline instead of motivation?

Good morning guys!

For the longest time, I’ve been looking for tips and tricks on staying motivated and accomplishing my goals. I’ve only recently come to realize that motivation is great, but is that really something that helps you? Sometimes I think motivation is fickle. Fickle is the perfect word for this because we don’t know how we are going to feel when doing something. Motivation comes and goes, it’s not permanent. But having discipline can be. That’s why that should be the ultimate goal. Don’t look for reasons to motivate yourself because they may not work, just go and do it! Do what you want to do and get it done!Β

I don’t really have any tips on developing discipline besides the basic things like; work hard, stay on track, remove any temptations, eat normally and healthy, change your routine if it isn’t working for you, know your weaknesses, set goals and have a plan to achieve those goals, create new habits that will help you achieve what you want, and reward yourself when you accomplish your goals and get to what you want.Β

So discipline, discipline, discipline! You can do it!!Β

West Coast Road Trip Pt.1: The start!

Hi there!

Finally getting started on my travel post! So I wanted to make a post for every city we visited because putting everything into one post would be wayyyy too much. This one will be all about the start.

I went to work that day (it was a Tuesday) and came home as soon as I was done with one of my last meetings before 11:30. I left as soon as I was done and started getting ready. I still needed to shower and pack a few more things like my camera battery that was charging overnight. We had to leave to get to the airport by 12:50-1 and we left around 12:15 (lol what’s new tho). So we finally got to the airport, had no trouble with TSA and that’s when our trip started. I recorded some things – I would post on here, but I don’t think I can. I will make a whole video and post the link later tho πŸ™‚

So the next couple of things will just be some pictures I took during the time we were waiting for our flight and when we got to Dallas waiting for our flight to Seattle.Β

The first three photos are waiting at our airport and finally getting to our seats. Then flying and landing in Dallas. We tried some sourdough grilled cheese and we came to the conclusion that we both don’t like sourdough so we didn’t finish the sandwich lol. It was very cheesy though and looked soooo good. Then you can see that we got back onto the plane heading towards Seattle. The sky was so beautiful before it got dark, wish I could go back to this moment and watch again πŸ™‚

So I was already saying our trip has begun when we arrived to the airport, but of course it really began when we landed in Seattle. Next post will be a BUNCH of pictures so get ready! πŸ™‚
