Ulta 21 Days of Beauty is here!

Hey guys!!

We are having some great weather here and to make it even better, Ulta has released their list for the 21 Days of Beauty! Every year, Ulta has their 21 Days of Beauty sale and I always get at least 1-2 items that are really good deals! Here’s the link to the event!

Now since it’s specific items each day, I like to go through each day and see if I want anything and then write it down so I remember to go that day or order online if I can’t make it in! For some of the days, nothing caught my eye, but here’s my list!

3/19:

  • Mario Badescu* Botanical Exfoliating Scrub on sale for $13

3/22:

  • Urban Decay* Eyeshadow Primer Potion on sale for $12, this is one of my favorite eyeshadow primers and works great with my skin
  • Peter Thomas Roth* Hungarian Thermal Mask & Moisturizer on sale for $29.. a little pricey, but I’ve never tried it and it looks good

3/23:

  • Anastasia Beverly Hills* Brow Wiz on sale for $10.50.. this is a STEAL! I would get one of these, but I have one brand new one at home and one I just started using recently so I don’t need it. If you’re looking for a light, easy brow pencil this one is great

3/25:

  • Skyn Iceland* Eye Gels on sale for $7.50-15.. never tried these but they look like they would work well

3/29:

  • Tarte* Tartelette Toasted Eyeshadow Palette on sale for $19.50.. have always wanted to try this one out and it’s a good price. Might be useful for traveling especially because it has a mirror

3/30:

  • Mario Badescu* Drying Lotion on sale for $8.50.. my sister uses this and says it works really well

4/1:

  • Clinique* Moisture Surge 72 Hour Auto-Replenishing Hydrator on sale for $19.50. One of my favorite moisturizers and it’s a great price on sale, will stock up

4/5:

  • Mario Badescu* Vitamin C Serum on sale for $22.50. Vitamin C is super good on the skin and I have been looking for a good serum from a brand I can trust
  • M•A•C* Prep + Prime Skin on sale for $15.50.. I have the Mac fix + spray and I love it so maybe this will work as good

4/6:

  • IT Cosmetics* Superhero Elastic Stretch Volumizing Mascara on sale for $12.. one of my favorite mascaras so I need to stock up! Also got my mom hooked on it, so I will grab one for her as well!

So there’s my list, does anyone else have any favorites they stock up on from events like this? Might as well get it when it’s on sale, right? 🙂

Creating a whole new routine for 2019! ⭐️

In 2018, I had a great routine set up and it was working well for me. By the end of 2018, I had NO routine. Maybe it was just because it was the end of the year and things were happening all over the place and maybe it was that I was just over my routine. Not following a routine caused everything else to go out of whack. For example, I lost track of when my bills were due at times and I stopped writing to-do lists during the week. This year, I want to create routines that stay throughout the whole year so things like that never happens and I can be as productive as possible.

Starting with my morning routine. There was a time last year where I was able to wake up at 5am and get my day started before heading out for work. That lasted a good month and it went into the holidays which is where I think it all went downhill. I quit following my routine and I slept in longer than I should’ve. One of my goals this year is to wake up earlier and accomplish a lot of things before I go to work for 8 hours a day. I think the best way for me to follow this is by waking up at 5am and getting in at least 30 minutes of exercise. Our home gym is almost done so that means I literally will walk out my back door, into the garage, and will be able to work out in the comfort of my own house. No having to drive back and forth anywhere – easy. The hardest part will be getting my body to adjust to waking up so early. That means going to bed earlier which won’t be a problem for me since we get into bed by 9pm every night and even 8:30pm at times. So that’s the first step, which is why this week I’m going to train my body to wake up at 5am and just do things before work so it’ll help when the gym is done and I actually work out.

Aside from waking up early, I want to incorporate those things I want to do before going to work. I want to eat breakfast of course, get my lunch ready, drink coffee/tea with my husband, and blog. Blogging in the morning is the best for me because usually after work I have stuff to do and never have time to blog. On Monday mornings, I like to write out the things I have to do for the week and that way I know I won’t forget to do something. This would make be super productive in the morning and I would feel as if my day wasn’t wasted after working all day.

Now, my skincare morning routine is something I am changing this year as well. My skin has been looking a lot better and I want to keep it that way. I cleanse my face every morning and put on moisturizer right after. Then comes makeup and whatever else. One of my skincare goals for this year is to go to a professional place to remove my acne scarring. That is the #1 thing that makes me insecure, the fact that it’s just around my cheeks and never goes away. Sometimes even makeup doesn’t fully cover it. Being comfortable in your own skin without makeup is something I’ve always dreamed of. I try to wear makeup only a bit during the week and it’s very hard for me to go to work without it, but it’s good for my skin. I was looking at buying the Clarisonic Mia, has anyone else used/tried this? Does it help and is it worth the price? Was thinking it might help with my completion and glow. It also would be nice to know I took all of the makeup off my face!

So that’s the plan for my morning routine. My night time routine is a bit different. I’ve been doing a great job of going to bed early, it’s easy because I’m tired by 8pm, but sometimes I lay in bed for an hour or two not being able to fall asleep. So I use that time to browse Pinterest or Reddit. I tried melatonin and it helps a lot, but sometimes I forget to take it and I’m too lazy to get up. I also think my phone is a distraction at times, so putting that away and just clearing my head before sleep would be a better thing to do. I am also trying to limit the amount of time I spend on my phone overall, so this would be a big help. So top things I am adding to my routine: be in bed by 8:30-9pm so I can get 8 hours of sleep, take melatonin if needed and don’t be lazy about it, put away the phone, and make sure the room doesn’t have a lot of light.

As for my night time routine, I am changing that up as well.

  • remove any makeup using coconut oil like a cleanser instead of a coconut oil on a makeup remover wipe – the way I used to do it doesn’t work for me
  • after removing makeup with coconut oil, use a wet cloth to wipe down any coconut oil still left on my face
  • wash face with moisturizing cleanser
  • put a face mask on (2-3x a week depending on how my skin is feeling)
  • add moisturizer and soft lip therapy on lips

My skin is usually very dry in the winter and I haven’t been very good at applying moisturizer before bed. On the days I don’t wear makeup, I’d skip the first two steps.

2019 is going to be a great year and I plan to do a lot of things. I can’t do those things without a consistent routine, so let’s hope this will keep me going.

How are your routines and how do you keep yourself motivated to keep them?

What products I’ve been loving lately!

Hi all!

So I have been trying out some new stuff recently and I have actually been liking everything. From skincare to haircare products, here’s my list:

Skincare:

  • Clinique Moisture Surge Moisturizer – my skin has been going through this dry phase for some reason and I ran out of my other moisturizer (which was also from Clinique) so I decided to go even further and try the moisture surge. So far, I LOVE this for my face. It really makes it soft, glowey, and hydrates it. I deff think this is my new go to face moisturizing product!
  • Nivea Soft – I really love this for my body. I usually put it on after I get out of the shower, but you can even use it when your legs or arms are feeling dry. It has a nice scent to it and it’s not greasy at all.
  • Thayers Witch Hazel – I tried the smaller version of this since I wasn’t sure if I’d like it, but it’s so nice on my skin. I like to use it in the morning and before I go to bed and so far I am loving it better than my old witch hazel toner.
  • Mario Badescu Acne Facial Cleanser – So I only got this because it was $7 the other day at Ulta with their 21 days of Beauty sale. It’s been over a week since I have been using it and what this is supposed to do is not get rid of any acne you have prior to using this, but to prevent any future acne from occuring. I haven’t had any breakouts ever since I started using this so I’m not 100% sure it’s from this product, but I usually do get acne now and then so just knowing my face is looking so much better gives me faith in this product. Originally it is $15, so it’s a little pricey, but none of their products have ever disappointed.
  • Up&Up Makeup Remover Wipes – Usually I use some makeup remover wipes from like Neutrogena and it burns my eyes when removing makeup. I finally found the perfect makeup wipes that don’t burn my eyes when using!!!! They are super gentle and soft to the skin so it causes no irritation whatsoever. I will keep purchasing these for sure!

Haircare:

  • Garnier Fructis Hair Mask – First time trying this product and so far it makes my hair smell good and it also makes it soft. They say you can use this hair mask as a conditioner, leave-in treatment or hair mask depending on what you need. It makes you hair less frizzy and more manageable. Loving it so far and will keep using it!

  • Garnier® Fructis® Sleek & Shine Intensely Smooth Leave-In Conditioning Cream – I’ve used this in the past and forgot about how much I liked it. I mix this with the oil I am going to talk about next and it just makes my hair super soft.

  • Garnier® Fructis® Sleek & Shine Moroccan Sleek Oil Treatment – Used this in the past also by combining it with the leave in conditioner above. It always worked good for me, made my hair smell amazing and made it super soft as well!

  • Garnier Fructis Pure Clean Detangler – Used this up already, got it maybe 2-3 months ago and I LOVED it! My hair always gets tangled easily after I get out of the shower and this helped so much. It also smells amazing!

So these are the products I’ve been loving lately, I might do cleaning products next time – I’ve been trying to get into the “organic” cleaning products.

Sunday March 18, 2018

Hello!

This is a super late post, but it’s been a long weekend and I needed to write! So spring break is officially over, back to school tomorrow 😦 I wish it lasted a little longer, I feel like I didn’t get the mental break I deserved (maybe just three more days would’ve been perfect) but I have to go back. On the bright side, there is only 8 more weeks of school and I only have 2 classes to worry about which means I get to focus on my blog a lot, YAY! March, April, and May will be great months because there is so much going on. 2 weeks until Chicago and 3 weeks until LA ( I can’t wait, it’s been too long since I have left STL) so I have something to look forward to this month still. When I come back from LA, my bridal shower will be like 2-3 weeks away and honestly I’m not crazy excited about it, but that will pass quickly and by then I should be decorating my house?! We’ll see if we can finish everything. Speaking of the house, we are about to start putting in the flooring. It’s going to be so beautiful – the flooring, not the part where we have to do it all ourselves 😦 but I think we will finish quick.

I did some shopping in the last 3 days and was able to get some items that I have been wanting for a while. On Friday, I went to Ulta and Sephora to pick up some things I needed and have been wanting for a while now.

From Sephora, I went and purchased Fenty Beauty foundation, I have been trying to buy this foundation for so long and every time I went to the Sephora closest to me, they were always out of my shade. They ended up giving me a small sample of some moisturizer and I had 400 beauty points so I picked up this Clinique moisturizing gel hydrant. I haven’t tried it out yet, but I love Clinique products so I am sure it will be nice. After that, I went to Ulta to buy my favorite Clinique moisturizer that I have been out of for over 2 weeks (it’s a shame I know, my skin has been sooooo dry) but I finally picked some up and my skin is thanking me 🙂 While at Ulta, I was able to get a sample of another Clinique moisturizer that was super expensive ($50) and I actually really like it, it’s super hydrating and I am layering it in with my other cream. I also bought a St. Tropez Gradual Tan Everyday Body Lotion. I usually use the foam one from that brand, but I haven’t had to use it since like senior year of high school. I wanted to try this out because it had a lot of good reviews and honestly within 2 days I saw some nice color. I skipped a day today and will just do it every other day so it doesn’t look bad. I feel like I just needed some color, I’m so pale. It just doesn’t look right with my dark hair and plus it’ll make me feel better about my upcoming vacations and the pictures I take. Ulta ended up giving me that sample size of St. Tropez Gradual Tan Glow Lotion, I haven’t tried it yet but thanks Ulta!!! Last thing I bought was the Purity Made Simple Face Wash. I love this face wash, I had it in a smaller bottle a while ago and it was a good face wash. It is a little pricey, but it’s good!

After my shopping, I headed over to Mirhad’s and we just hung out. I found this recipe for some wine/fruity drink and we decided to try it out. We made wayyyyy too much for two people and ended up dumping a lot of it down the drain, but it was pretty good. This would be nice for a backyard BBQ drink so I am going to save this recipe. Here’s how it turned out:

Yesterday we worked on the house and I literally did nothing the whole night besides laying in my bed and I guess it was fun to relax a bit.

Today, me and Mirhad went to go play tennis with Ermin and Dzenana, but it ended up being too cold for that so we decided to go bowling instead. After bowling, we went to eat at El Maguey’s and it was pretty good. I dropped everyone off at home and asked Sanela if she wanted to go shopping. I ended up buying white jeans which I haven’t had since high school, I’ve been looking for a good pair and I finally found one! I also bought this cute denim shirt, usually they look super weird on me, but this fit good. I bought this Real Techniques brush set, it’s pink and comes with 3 brushes for blush and highlight and with a beauty blender. Last thing I bought was a small book bag for my travels (for hiking in LA and just walking around, much easier than a purse) and it was only $25 and has plenty of space inside. It will be perfect to carry my stuff in on the plane, too. I think I might take it to Chicago as well since I will be walking around a lot. Here’s the book bag:

I might make a separate post about it since I want to go in depth about how much room it has inside.

Tomorrow after class, I am going to catch up on my notes from micro so I can prep for my test next week (ugh already) and then I will do my micro homework. But before I do that, I am going to drink some coffee and blog 😀 I also need to email my teacher about not coming to Tuesday’s class because I will be getting my braces off!!!! 2 MORE DAYS!!!!

So yeah, that’s pretty much my whole weekend summed up, I’m excited for the next 8 weeks and can’t wait to blog all about it.

Good night!!! ❤
