It’s about that time… Sunday!

Hi there!

I wish I could say lazy Sunday today, but it won’t be lazy at all ๐Ÿ˜ฆ so Mirhad didn’t sleep ALL night, I woke up at 4am and noticed his ass was in the office working so I told him to go to sleep right now and I’m not sure when he went but he claimed he slept for like 3 hours. Knowing him, he will probably be tired ALL DAY which will be annoying, but I told him he better not say once that he’s tired lol.

Today at 1, we’re going to my moms cousins house to visit them for the first time since we got married. In the Bosnian tradition, you have to visit all family when you get married and invite them back over (if you want) so now we have to spend months doing that. Last night one of Mirhad’s older cousins came over and honestly I thought it would be kind of awkward because they’re older and I didn’t know if there would be any good conversation, but we actually had a lot of fun. The lady was like, “I’m having so much fun, trust me if I was bored I would’ve drank my coffee and said thanks goodbye!” She’s so funny, so they ended up staying longer than we/they thought they would, but it was fun for sure. They are very talkative, open, and lively so that helped. We ended up taking a picture together, they insisted. Here’s the pic below:

Yesterday we also had a nice BBQ at my best friend Sanela’s house. It was delish and we ended up drinking coffee the Bosnian way, it was actually fun ๐Ÿ™‚ Here’s a picture of the cute little coffee cup set we used.ย

IMG_2217

So cute! I need to get myself a set like this, her mom is in Bosnia so I asked her if she finds any cute ones to bring me some back ๐Ÿ™‚

What else? I have work tomorrow, but it’s supposed to rain the rest of the week after Monday so I may end up working from home for the rest of the week. I hate driving in the rain because there’s always an accident and people drive crazy even if it’s raining so it’s pretty dangerous and I’d rather not be stuck in traffic for an hour. Hopefully I can just do that this week!ย

I might go shopping later, if I can drag Mirhad to come with me. I still need a work planner, it’s so hard finding one that fits all of my needs, but hopefully I find something today before work this week.ย

Bye ๐Ÿ™‚

Dallas, Texas Trip 2018

Hey there!

Earlier this week I promised a Dallas blog post and I am here to fulfill that promise ๐Ÿ™‚

So this Dallas trip was meant to be a short, weekend trip. It was my birthday last Wednesday and we decided to leave on Thursday after I got off of work. One thing I will never do again is wait last minute to pack… I literally came home at 3pm and we wanted to leave at 5 so that left me 2 hours to pack everything I needed and also take a quick shower. It was lots of pressure to get out of the house by 5, but we did it and had to go grab some food and go to Walmart because we forgot something. So we actually ended up leaving around 6 lol. For a second I was annoyed because that means we have to drive until like 3-4am, but I got over it because after all IT IS a weekend trip ๐Ÿ™‚

We had lots of fun on the drive, lots of good music, some good snacks, and just the open road. Honestly, I feel like there really is no better feeling in life than taking a trip, driving out on the open road, blasting your favorite music, and forgetting about all of your worries.

We arrived at our Airbnb around 3-4am, I was a little scared of walking around so late at night in a new city, but it actually ended up being perfectly fine and safe. Our garage was right next to the Airbnb so we checked in with security. As soon as we got into our room, we knocked out. Woke up the next morning ready to explore. We swam a lot on the rooftop pool, ate lots of BBQ, and explored what the city had to offer. I didn’t take lots of pictures, but I took some and they are good memories to me.

It was a very fun trip and for the first time in my life, I heard Mirhad say “that was fun, we should do it again, I’m excited for the next trip!” Literally have never heard him say that, so I was so excited to hear it and that means many more weekend trips to come ๐Ÿ™‚ and also going back to Dallas because we had so much fun and it’s not that far!

His birthday is coming up so I am trying to figure out a cool city to visit, we want to take a train this time so it can literally be anywhere. Maybe Houston? He was saying he would like to visit Houston, but we’ll see. I think I’ll take off that Wed-Fri so that gives us some more time to enjoy his birthday week/weekend ๐Ÿ™‚

Anyways, I recommend visiting Dallas if you haven’t already. It’s seriously a beautiful city, I mean all of Texas that we saw was super nice. Also – Southern Hospatality is so real, this is the first time I’ve experienced it and PEOPLE ARE SO NICE HERE! It’s so different compared to St. Louis and the people are so different and much nicer lol.

Go visit Dallas!!!! You won’t regret it.

Sunday March 18, 2018

Hello!

This is a super late post, but it’s been a long weekend and I needed to write! So spring break is officially over, back to school tomorrow ๐Ÿ˜ฆ I wish it lasted a little longer, I feel like I didn’t get the mental break I deserved (maybe just three more days would’ve been perfect) but I have to go back. On the bright side, there is only 8 more weeks of school and I only have 2 classes to worry about which means I get to focus on my blog a lot, YAY! March, April, and May will be great months because there is so much going on. 2 weeks until Chicago and 3 weeks until LA ( I can’t wait, it’s been too long since I have left STL) so I have something to look forward to this month still. When I come back from LA, my bridal shower will be like 2-3 weeks away and honestly I’m not crazy excited about it, but that will pass quickly and by then I should be decorating my house?! We’ll see if we can finish everything.ย Speaking of the house, we are about to start putting in the flooring. It’s going to be so beautiful – the flooring, not the part where we have to do it all ourselves ๐Ÿ˜ฆ but I think we will finish quick.ย

I did some shopping in the last 3 days and was able to get some items that I have been wanting for a while. On Friday, I went to Ulta and Sephora to pick up some things I needed and have been wanting for a while now.ย

From Sephora, I went and purchased Fenty Beauty foundation, I have been trying to buy this foundation for so long and every time I went to the Sephora closest to me, they were always out of my shade. They ended up giving me a small sample of some moisturizer and I had 400 beauty points so I picked up this Clinique moisturizing gel hydrant. I haven’t tried it out yet, but I love Clinique products so I am sure it will be nice. After that, I went to Ulta to buy my favorite Clinique moisturizer that I have been out of for over 2 weeks (it’s a shame I know, my skin has been sooooo dry) but I finally picked some up and my skin is thanking me ๐Ÿ™‚ While at Ulta, I was able to get a sample of another Clinique moisturizer that was super expensive ($50) and I actually really like it, it’s super hydrating and I am layering it in with my other cream. I also bought a St. Tropez Gradual Tan Everyday Body Lotion. I usually use the foam one from that brand, but I haven’t had to use it since like senior year of high school. I wanted to try this out because it had a lot of good reviews and honestly within 2 days I saw some nice color. I skipped a day today and will just do it every other day so it doesn’t look bad. I feel like I just needed some color, I’m so pale. It just doesn’t look right with my dark hair and plus it’ll make me feel better about my upcoming vacations and the pictures I take. Ulta ended up giving me that sample size of St. Tropez Gradual Tan Glow Lotion, I haven’t tried it yet but thanks Ulta!!! Last thing I bought was the Purity Made Simple Face Wash. I love this face wash, I had it in a smaller bottle a while ago and it was a good face wash. It is a little pricey, but it’s good!

After my shopping, I headed over to Mirhad’s and we just hung out. I found this recipe for some wine/fruity drink and we decided to try it out. We made wayyyyy too much for two people and ended up dumping a lot of it down the drain, but it was pretty good. This would be nice for a backyard BBQ drink so I am going to save this recipe. Here’s how it turned out:

IMG_0397

Yesterday we worked on the house and I literally did nothing the whole night besides laying in my bed and I guess it was fun to relax a bit.

Today, me and Mirhad went to go play tennis with Ermin and Dzenana, but it ended up being too cold for that so we decided to go bowling instead. After bowling, we went to eat at El Maguey’s and it was pretty good. I dropped everyone off at home and asked Sanela if she wanted to go shopping. I ended up buying white jeans which I haven’t had since high school, I’ve been looking for a good pair and I finally found one! I also bought this cute denim shirt, usually they look super weird on me, but this fit good. I bought this Real Techniques brush set, it’s pink and comes with 3 brushes for blush and highlight and with a beauty blender. Last thing I bought was a small book bag for my travels (for hiking in LA and just walking around, much easier than a purse) and it was only $25 and has plenty of space inside. It will be perfect to carry my stuff in on the plane, too. I think I might take it to Chicago as well since I will be walking around a lot. Here’s the book bag:

IMG_0417

I might make a separate post about it since I want to go in depth about how much room it has inside.ย

Tomorrow after class, I am going to catch up on my notes from micro so I can prep for my test next week (ugh already) and then I will do my micro homework. But before I do that, I am going to drink some coffee and blog ๐Ÿ˜€ I also need to email my teacher about not coming to Tuesday’s class because I will be getting my braces off!!!! 2 MORE DAYS!!!!

So yeah, that’s pretty much my whole weekend summed up, I’m excited for the next 8 weeks and can’t wait to blog all about it.ย

Good night!!! โคย
