Hope you all had a great New Years! Last year, my blogging schedule was all over the place and now that I think about it, I wouldn’t even call it a blogging schedule. It was pretty much whenever I had time/felt like blogging. In 2019, I am creating an actual blogging schedule where I will have set times on when I will be writing/publishing new posts.
My original plan was to find a desk calendar at Marshall’s or TJ Maxx, but I had no luck. Then I thought about ordering one from Amazon, but there were some basic ones for $12 and I didn’t think it was worth it at that price. I mean, at that point I might as well buy a planner. So what I did instead was go on Microsoft Word and found a calendar template. I even found one that had every single month for 2019. I printed it out today and started filling in my schedule, this one will be strictly for blogging.
I took some time to think about what days to choose and I ended up deciding to create posts 3x a week. So for example I chose Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays because those are the days where I usually don’t have heavy meetings at work and that way I’ll still have time and energy when I come home to write. Fridays I always work from home so that one will be the easiest because I can just wake up earlier and start writing. I also wanted to pick one day every weekend to write as well. I think for that I might just switch days every weekend, like one weekend I’ll do Saturday and the next it’ll be Sunday. And then in the future if I have a vacation coming up, I’ll either just skip those days and make up for them or I will just leave it as is and continue the following week when I’m back. For example, we’re going to Tennessee at the end of this month and I plan to spend some quality time with my husband and family so I don’t want to be occupied with my phone or computer. For those days where I had to blog, I will probably just skip them and start fresh the following week.
For me, it’s important to create this blogging schedule because I feel like in the last 6 months I really haven’t been following my routine and including blogging as much as I’ve wanted to. We’ll see if this method works and if not, I will move on to another method. I want to step up my blogging so I can accomplish my goal of one day becoming a full time blogger. Hope this is a step in the right direction!
Does anyone else have a schedule like this for blogging? Does it work for you? Let me know in the comments!
Good morning guys!
For the longest time, I’ve been looking for tips and tricks on staying motivated and accomplishing my goals. I’ve only recently come to realize that motivation is great, but is that really something that helps you? Sometimes I think motivation is fickle. Fickle is the perfect word for this because we don’t know how we are going to feel when doing something. Motivation comes and goes, it’s not permanent. But having discipline can be. That’s why that should be the ultimate goal. Don’t look for reasons to motivate yourself because they may not work, just go and do it! Do what you want to do and get it done!
I don’t really have any tips on developing discipline besides the basic things like; work hard, stay on track, remove any temptations, eat normally and healthy, change your routine if it isn’t working for you, know your weaknesses, set goals and have a plan to achieve those goals, create new habits that will help you achieve what you want, and reward yourself when you accomplish your goals and get to what you want.
So discipline, discipline, discipline! You can do it!!
I have had a tab open with a draft of a blog post about weekend getaways and planning which I never got around to finishing. On the bright side, we finally booked our weekend getaway for my birthday!!! We are going to Dallas, Texas!!!!!! The only time I’ve been to Texas was when I was traveling to Florida by plane and we had to stop for a connecting flight from Dallas. So I’ve only been at the airport which was a pretty cool airport tbh, so in that matter I am so excited to explore Dallas and see a little bit of what Texas has to offer 🙂
With that being said, have to do the obligatory “things to do in …” post so that will be coming very soon. I won’t be planning anything, I’ll just have a list of fun things and places to visit and places to eat of course, but this is a weekend getaway – no stress, just FUN!
Also, this is our first trip together as a married couple, alone. We went to Colorado back in May, but with family so this will be the very first one where it’s just us two, yay!
I’ve been thinking about the future a lot recently and I feel like I have so much faith in Mirhad, I think he can really do what he wants and accomplish his goals he is working really hard on right now. I know you’ll read this Mirhad, I just want you to know I believe in you. I know I don’t say it often, but I really do. YOU GOT THIS! ❤
But yeah I have been thinking about the future a lot and I have so much I want to do and so many goals to accomplish and I am so ready to tackle them. Lots of positive vibes lately and honestly it feels so nice. Wake up in the morning with a happy mood, even if I am tired, oh well. Change the mood, make yourself happy, wake yourself up, and accomplish some goals!!! Life is too short to not be doing what you want!!!
About to go to Ikea to get a book shelf.
See ya! 🙂
