My 2019 Vision Board!

Hi all!

I finally got around to finishing my vision board and it’s not the very best, but it’s perfect for me! This time I just put a bunch of pictures/quotes that will motivate me for this year. Last year, I had a lot of pictures of my husband/family and random things, but this way is better.Β

Here’s my vision board – I won’t go through each one, but I’ll explain some of them.

Let’s start from the top. A lot of those are about calmness and mindfulness which is something I’d love work on a lot this year. The picture of the woman is about me wanting nicer skin and getting better with my makeup skills. And of course I added something about my husband because he is #1 πŸ™‚ As you can see there are a couple things on here about him!Β

In the second row, I have a picture of the Kindle which explains me wanting to read more this year. I can happily say that I have read SO much since I have gotten it! Family of course is important so I had to add something about that in here! We are planning to go to NYC this summer, so I added a picture of Central Park in there. And the last one I will mention in this row is the quote, “No one is born a great cook, one learns by doing.” I often get discouraged when I attempt to make some food that I’ve never made before or sometimes even food I’ve made multiple times and it doesn’t turn out the way I thought it would. This is a great quote because it’s true, I will get better with time!Β

The third row is just all quotes, so I’ll pick 2-3 that stand out right now. I really want to get rid of any clutter and just make our living space very simple. The picture with Pooh says, “sometimes the smallest things take up the most room in your heart.” This is referring to my niece and nephew πŸ™‚ And the last one I will mention in this row is the very first quote, life really is precious.

In the fourth row, I have the state of California map because it is one of the best states in my opinion and this map shows a lot of cool places to visit in CA! The woman in the bikini is my fitness goal and it’s very realistic for my body type since I don’t want abs or anything muscular. I feel like I could achieve this in 2019. I used to find really fit people with abs and make them my motivation, but it was too unrealistic and would take YEARS to happen. The picture of the palm trees and beach is a very special place in my heart πŸ™‚ ❀ And the last one is about working out, eating well, and being patient. I’m not patient enough and this is a good reminder to be!

And for the last two sections, I’ll just talk about 4-5 of them. I added a couple things about traveling because that’s what I’m most looking forward this year and there is a picture in Disney Land because we are planning to go there! The pictures are because I want to take lots and lots of pictures going forward, that is the best way to remember good memories. I NEED to drink more water daily, it’s a huge struggle for me, but I am going to make it a habit. The picture of the hair is because I want long, healthy hair. And the last one I will mention is the plant, I want more plants in my house because plants give off good energy and fresh air.

There you have it, my 2019 vision board! I tried to be as realistic as possible and I think I can for sure accomplish most, if not all of these goals on my board.

Did you make a vision board for 2019? What are your top three things on there? πŸ™‚

Catch up time..

Hi all!

It’s been about 12 days since I last posted and I just needed to write this post to explain why. The week after the holidays when I got back to work was really weird and so was the following week. I couldn’t get into my routine and I couldn’t wake up earlier. I just felt like I wasn’t getting any sleep at all even though I was sleeping 8+ hours a night. Attempted to sit down and post and I just couldn’t. For some reason, I just didn’t feel motivated to do anything and I didn’t feel like myself. It was really weird!

And then last Thursday, I woke up and was getting ready for work when I got a text from my mom saying my grandpa passed away. My grandpa (my dads dad) was 77 years old and has spent the last 2-3 months in the hospital because of a minor surgery. He was about to be allowed to finally go home when he passed from a heart attack. So it’s been a very sad weekend, my parents flew out the same day to make it in time for his funeral since he lived in Bosnia. I was also looking for tickets to go with Mirhad and my parents, but the tickets were so expensive and I would need a whole week off work. So I decided to stay home with my siblings to watch over them and make sure they’re okay. I wish I would have gotten the chance to talk to him one last time before he passed. My biggest regret is not calling him while he was in the hospital, I just thought it was a minor surgery and that he would be home soon and that everything would be okay. That’s what our whole family thought, it was so unexpected. I miss him so much and I wish I could be there for my grandma. I am going to try to make her come to the US to visit us for a bit so she’s not alone. Rest in Peace grandpa, you will be missed. ❀

I took two days off work as soon as I found out he passed away, so I could spend some time with my dad before he went off to Bosnia and so I could grieve. I also took a break from social media to just spend time with family and clear my head a bit. Tomorrow I go back to work and hopefully I can continue on with my blogging schedule I created for this month since it’s been a mess. Hoping to get back into my routine as well and my parents will be coming back this week so I want to also spend some time with them!Β I have some good ideas for posts this week so I’m writing them down so I don’t forget!

So yeah, that is why I have been MIA for the past 2 weeks. Can’t wait to get back into the groove and start feeling like myself again. I’m working on my vision board so I am thinking about sharing that too!

See ya πŸ™‚

Creating a blogging schedule for 2019! βœ¨

Hi all!

Hope you all had a great New Years! Last year, my blogging schedule was all over the place and now that I think about it, I wouldn’t even call it a blogging schedule. It was pretty much whenever I had time/felt like blogging. In 2019, I am creating an actual blogging schedule where I will have set times on when I will be writing/publishing new posts.

My original plan was to find a desk calendar at Marshall’s or TJ Maxx, but I had no luck. Then I thought about ordering one from Amazon, but there were some basic ones for $12 and I didn’t think it was worth it at that price. I mean, at that point I might as well buy a planner. So what I did instead was go on Microsoft Word and found a calendar template. I even found one that had every single month for 2019. I printed it out today and started filling in my schedule, this one will be strictly for blogging.

I took some time to think about what days to choose and I ended up deciding to create posts 3x a week. So for example I chose Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays because those are the days where I usually don’t have heavy meetings at work and that way I’ll still have time and energy when I come home to write. Fridays I always work from home so that one will be the easiest because I can just wake up earlier and start writing. I also wanted to pick one day every weekend to write as well. I think for that I might just switch days every weekend, like one weekend I’ll do Saturday and the next it’ll be Sunday. And then in the future if I have a vacation coming up, I’ll either just skip those days and make up for them or I will just leave it as is and continue the following week when I’m back. For example, we’re going to Tennessee at the end of this month and I plan to spend some quality time with my husband and family so I don’t want to be occupied with my phone or computer. For those days where I had to blog, I will probably just skip them and start fresh the following week.

For me, it’s important to create this blogging schedule because I feel like in the last 6 months I really haven’t been following my routine and including blogging as much as I’ve wanted to. We’ll see if this method works and if not, I will move on to another method. I want to step up my blogging so I can accomplish my goal of one day becoming a full time blogger. Hope this is a step in the right direction!

Does anyone else have a schedule like this for blogging? Does it work for you? Let me know in the comments!

My Winter bucket list β„️

Every Winter, I write this little bucket list of things I want to do and most of the time, half of the stuff on there doesn’t get crossed off! This time, I’m making it a bit shorter so that maybe I will be able to cross more things off. I love the holidays and the warmth it gives me, so this list is essential to me.

My list:

  • Drink hot chocolate and watch a movie in my pj’s w/ my husband
  • Bake cookies and decorate them (sprinkles, frosting, etc)
  • Go see Christmas lights at least 3xΒ
  • Buy presents for family, wrap them, and put them under the tree
  • Go ice-skating
  • Visit Chicago and see the lights + ice skateΒ
  • Plan an upcoming vacation
  • Watch as many movies as I can during my free time
  • Write my 2019 goals
  • Decorate a gingerbread house with husband
  • Scrapbook
  • Read

So there’s my super short list. I think I can do most of the things on here, I really want to go see the lights in Chicago and ice-skate, but if it’s too expensive we may save that for next year.

What’s on your list? πŸ™‚

Long weekend + the flu πŸ€’

Good morning!

Last post I talked about my Thanksgiving and that Friday I took work off. Well, Saturday was a very pretty day with a high of 62 degrees so later that night we went to a bonfire with some friends and it was nice. It wasn’t too cold, but it got chilly by 10pm. By the time we left, I was FREEZING. I just thought that it was just because I was by the fire and half of me was warm and half of me was cold. But as soon as I got into the car, my spine started hurting. It was the weirdest thing! After 15-20 mins, I started getting aches everywhere. When I got home, I was shaking uncontrollably and I felt like it was zero degrees in my house. I had Mirhad wrap me up in 4 blankets and give me Nyquil. That night I ended up having a fever which turned into the flu. I’ve been trying to get rid of it since then and haven’t gone into work with fear of getting everyone around me sick. I would hate that. So I’m not going in until my symptoms are gone.

Besides that darn flu, I haven’t been productive at all and it sucks!!! I’ve been trying to clean up little by little which is working, but I can see how weak I am and it’s weird because I haven’t had the flu since like 5 years ago. That time I didn’t get out of bed for 2 weeks and I feel like that would be the case with this if I didn’t have to work!Β

I’m coming up with my 2019 goals list slowly, there are some good stuff on there so far! I have lots of plans for 2019 and I am super excited! I think it’ll be a great year πŸ™‚ Anyone else start coming up with their 2019 goals??

Today we will try to leave the house and go grocery shopping for some items and see if we can pick up something as a gift for my moms bday that’s in 2 days! We also have our nieces bday coming up next week so we need to find her a gift soon too.

But yeah, that’s my quick update.. until next time when I have a quality post and when I’m not sick πŸ™‚
