Lake Tahoe/Yosemite August 2017

August 12th to August 16th, 2017

Let me just start out by saying that this was one of the best vacations I have ever taken!!!

We booked an Airbnb and flights in May and the countdown to August 12th had begun. My whole family went, Mirhad, Sanela, Anel, and Vildana. Flight to Reno was bright and early so we had a nice full day when we got there. We rented a Dodge van at the airport and started making our way down to Lake Tahoe. We stopped at a Walmart so we could get lots of food for the 5-6 days we were there. After we went grocery shopping, we continued following the map to our Airbnb in North Lake Tahoe. The ride there was beautiful, lots of scenic views and lots to enjoy.

When we finally got to our Airbnb home, we were shocked at how beautiful it was. It was adorable, like a cabin home, but huge. We got settled in and chose where each of us will sleep (this house had so many rooms, but it had a bedroom upstairs with 3 bunk beds and a couch bed so all of the kids slept up there). After we got settled in, we all decided we need to go see the lake right away, so we got our swimming stuff together and headed down to the beach (which was super close to us, we could walk there).

Over the next couple of days, we had a lot of fun. We had fun doing things like BBQ’ing, chilling in the jacuzzi, baking a pizza, swimming at the lake, hiking pretty far up – with my parents who were very exhausted and then my dad went to the edge at the top of the mountain and we were all scared but mad at the same time -.- , walking to stores, and just doing various fun activities just relaxing and having fun together.

I have a lot of pictures from this trip so I’ll start from when we got to Lake Tahoe and then pictures from being in Lake Tahoe.

That was the way to our Airbnb and just driving through the city… Next pictures are of North Lake Tahoe beaches, hiking, and exploring.

We decided to visit South Lake Tahoe as well so we made a whole circle around all of Lake Tahoe. Here’s some pictures I took, check out how beautiful the water and the mountains are!

Like I said… BEAUTIFUL!

My parents wanted to go to San Fransisco and we just didn’t want to be in a car all day because the following day we decided to go to Yosemite National Park. So my parents went to San Fransisco and visited some old friends and the following day, we woke up at 6 am and headed towards Yosemite. Took a while to wake everyone up and get them packed for our day long road trip, but we finally left for Yosemite at like 8 am?? Anyways, Yosemite is the most beautiful place I’ve ever seen with my own eyes. It felt like a dream, half of the time I was thinking is this real?!??! To be honest though, the drive up there was scary as we entered the park officially. We got like 30 minutes into the park when we realized we forgot to fill gas 😦 so we decided to go back and fill it full tank so we can keep exploring. We climbed some huge rock, saw lots of mountains, and just breathed in the amazing air of Yosemite. It was amazing there and here are some awesome pictures.

I’ll start off with the road trip there. Saw some beautiful scenery.

So that was on the way to the park, I had a lot of videos of the drive, but I’m not sure how to get them onto here, but that is besides the point.. I have lots of photos!

Now these photos below are from the actual park.

As you can see, I had to take a lot of pics of this beauty πŸ™‚

Next photos are when we made it to the valley! Scariest drive of my life there… don’t know how I didn’t have a heart attack!!!!

Some extra pics I thought should get their own section…

Pics leaving Yosemite National Park is underneath!

And last but not least.. some pics of our last couple of days in Lake Tahoe πŸ™‚

So looking back on this a couple months later, it was an amazing trip and I’d go back again!!!! Hopefully I can convince Mirhad to take us to Yosemite for our honeymoon… that would be awesome πŸ™‚

If you’ve never been to Lake Tahoe or Yosemite, I recommend… you won’t regret it!
